Since I'm hopeless at posting regular updates. I figured I could just touch on random topics here and there in the hopes that there is something at least a little interesting to be found in them. So here goes. Eli has been growing and developing so quickly lately that I'm going to list just a few of my favorite things that he does.... (Picture Julie Andrews singing while reading:)
* Eli is FINALLY putting two words together unprompted. Hallelujah! That by itself is worthy of being a favorite. However, my favorite combination of words thus far is: baby boo. He's decided all big animals are mommy or daddy animals. And all little animals are babies. Logical. I can go with that. However, he often refers to cows at "boos" instead of moos (even though he can make an m sound? I don't know). Anyway, it cracks me up to hear him say baby boo. It might not sound funny when you read it, but his little voice just sounds hilarious.
* I love that he LOVES to read! And that he'll now say "read. please." as he holds out a book to you. It's perhaps one of my favorite things he does.
* Eli is very into animals. And his most recent fascination with them is that they go "ninite" too. (We drive by cows every day and on our way home it's too dark to see them, so we say they went ninite). Anyway, because of this, he's decided that any animal laying on its side is "ninite". So he'll line up all his animals on the coffee table and lay them down one at a time, saying "ninite!" to each one as he does it. So cute.
* I love that Eli loves his grandparents! Any time we are going to see them (my parents or Aaron's) Eli will say "mamaw! papaw!" the whole way there! I'm so glad that he's developing such a love for his family :)
* I love that Eli's little personality is shining through more and more. His sense of humor is a constant source of joy for us, since he is constantly cracking us up with what he thinks is funny.
* I love that Eli and Zoe (our dog) play together so well. They are great entertainment for each other. And Eli is very concerned that Zoe has enough food and water and treats. Granted, once he gives her a treat he tries to play tug-of-war with her over it (while laughing the whole time). I thank God every day we have a patient dog who is okay with a toddler's shenanigans.
* I love that Eli is a good sleeper and always has been. He always takes naps and never fights bedtime. Now that I've written this, I'm sure he'll suddenly decide he never wants to sleep again. :P But so far, so good! Makes me dread having another baby, because I know I can't be so lucky with a second...
I'm sure I'll think of more things after I post this. But for now, this seems like plenty. And it's naptime, so I have things to go do!
